General Dynamics books $695M Army IT order

General Dynamics has reported its win of a potential five-year, $695 million task order for secure IT services to support U.S. Army personnel, networks and systems in Europe.

The General Services Administration awarded the Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services order for work over an initial base year and up to four individual option years, GD said Tuesday.

EMITS also includes a three-month transition period and builds upon a prior task order awarded to GD’s IT services segment in 2016.

U.S. Army Europe will use the task order to acquire enterprise IT, communications and mission command support services in support of its headquarters, NATO operations and other deployed U.S. military and coalition forces in Europe.

GDIT will seek to further optimize mission command networks and systems for helping U.S. Army Europe carry out operations to advance its global mission.

“GDIT looks forward to the opportunity to continue supporting the USAREUR G6 and its growing need for expanded theater communications and greater interoperability to enhance Army and Allied mission command systems,” segment president Amy Gilliland said in a release.
