ManTech wins CBP business intell recompete

ManTech International has kept a $273 million contract to help Customs and Border Protection with business intelligence support services.
ManTech International has successfully retained a $273 million contract for business intelligence support services.
The aptly named BISS contract supports Customs and Border Protection efforts to preempt crimes and acts of terrorism. ManTech has supported CBP in this effort since 2017 as it tries to prevent terrorist attacks, intercept illegal drugs and other illicit trade. CBP received three other bids in addition to ManTech's, according to the Federal Procurement Data System.
ManTech will add more analytics, automation and artificial intelligence capabilities to increase CBP’s ability to identify threats in real time.
“ManTech’s sophisticated analytics, automation and AI capabilities allow us to analyze mountains of data to find and deliver actionable, accurate and relevant intelligence essential to safeguarding our nation,” said Bryce Pippert, executive vice president of ManTech’s federal civilian sector.
Technologies such as machine learning allow CBP to identify data anomalies that would be missed by the human eye, he said. Machine learning also can identify subtle trends that can be predictive of future behavior.
ManTech will delivers end-to-end analytic support, predictive modeling, threat research, and query support of CBP’s big data platforms. ManTech will also develop advanced visualizations to translate complex data findings into actionable intelligence.
Science Applications International Corp. won a companion operations and maintenance contract worth $883.7 million, according to Deltek.
