Amentum records new biz win through $430M Navy contract

Six months on from its launch, Amentum has won a potential $430 million contract to help operate and maintain a military range the Navy uses for work on programs in the undersea domain.

The Navy received six proposals for the contract to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center over up to 10 years, according to the Pentagon’s Wednesday awards digest.

Pending debriefs and possible protests, this also would represent a win of new business for Amentum -- the former AECOM management services business that rebranded earlier this year.

Deltek data indicates the current contract is held by PAE through its Applied Technologies division. That contract is slated to expire on Sept. 30.

The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center is one of the branch’s main large-area, deep-water, undersea test and evaluation ranges and primary activities include underwater research, testing and evaluation of anti-submarine weapons, sonar tracking, and communications.

Based in the Bahamas, the AUTEC’s three ranges are located in the so-called “Tongue of the Ocean” that separates two of that country’s islands.
