New international development firm launches after deal with SAIC

A new government services company led by former Engility CEO Tony Smeraglinolo has acquired the international development portfolio from Science Applications International Corp.

Arlington, Virginia-based Sincerus Global Solutions said Monday that now-former SAIC division includes peacekeeping and law enforcement training, “rule of law” consulting, and related implementation services for the State and Justice departments. Other work encompasses expeditionary mission support, security sector development, training, advising, and logistics support.

Terms of the transaction were undisclosed, but SAIC’s international development unit vice president Glen Schumacher will join Sincerus as president and chief operating officer.

Employees and contractors working on programs operating in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East will immediately begin transitioning to Sincerus.

Sincerus was advised by the law firm of Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw, Pittman. Financing was provided by Atlantic Union Bank.
