CGI secures final CDM DEFEND cyber order

CGI Group lands the sixth and final task order for cyber integration and consulting services to federal agencies through the governmentwide CDM DEFEND program.
CGI Federal has booked the sixth and final task order for integration and consulting services to dozens of federal agencies as part of CDM DEFEND -- a governmentwide effort to roll out new cybersecurity tools and services.
For the Group F order, CGI will provide a shared services platform for the Homeland Security Department to deliver new cyber capabilities to more than 75 smaller agencies not covered by the 1990 Chief Financial Officers Act. CDM Defend is the next iteration of DHS’ Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program to further secure civilian networks in the “.gov” domain.
The new order is worth $267 million over up to five years and like the others was awarded through the General Services Administration’s Alliant 2 vehicle as GSA helps DHS manage CDM-related procurements, CGI said Wednesday.
An award for Group F was briefly held up by a pre-award protest from Tetra Tech’s Indus Corp. subsidiary first initiated in January. Indus withdrew its challenge to the solicitation one month later to clear DHS and GSA to move ahead on making an award.
Group F is also the second major CDM DEFEND award that CGI Federal has secured, following the nearly $500 million win two years ago to support Group C agencies. Both groups add up to nearly $770 million in awards for CGI Federal through the larger $3.4 billion CDM DEFEND umbrella of procurements.
Most of the awards were finalized two years ago when Booz Allen Hamilton won Groups B and D for a combined $1.6 billion ceiling value, while CACI International secured the $407 million Group A order and ManTech International took the $668 million Group E award.
In addition, CGI Federal also is providing design and implementation services to 26 federal agencies for credential management in line with the broader CDM initiative.
