Govini promotes Dougherty to CEO

Govini has promoted Tara Murphy Dougherty, formerly president of its national security practice, to become CEO of the defense spending data company.

She succeeds Chris Taylor, who has stepped down from the chief executive post after two years and will remain on the firm’s board of advisers.

Taylor led Govini’s capture of a potential five-year, $400 million contract awarded in December to give Defense Department offices access to the company’s dataset.

Dougherty has led Govini’s national security practice for the past two years. Prior to that, she worked at Palantir Technologies and was chief of staff for global strategic affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
