E3/Sentinel closes another digital-focused acquisition
E/3 Sentinel continues its strategy to move up the middle market's food chain with another acquisition focused on digital and analytics-related services for government agencies.
E/3 Sentinel has made a second acquisition within three months of its last transaction to continue the company’s strategy of deals focused on expanding digital, analytics and other technical offerings for government agencies.
In a release Friday, E/3 Sentinel said it has acquired Operational Intelligence LLC to grow operational and training services for defense and intelligence agencies.
OI was founded in 2008 and “will combine business operations immediately” with that of E/3 Sentinel, the companies said.
E/3 Sentinel is backed by private equity firm NewSpring Holdings, which created the contractor in late 2018 through a merger of its Sentinel portfolio company with E3 Federal Solutions.
One main idea behind creating E/3 Sentinel was to present a formidable middle-market player that not only embraces its status as such, but brings more of an entrepreneurial approach to government agencies.
The McLean, Virginia-based company’s last acquisition in August was of Data Works Inc. to add more capabilities in managing large amounts of government data with cloud-based tools.
