DHS makes second round of awards on $325M technical support contract

Months after having its post-award protest dismissed, Perspecta has become the fourth company on a $325 million contract for systems engineering and technical assistance services to the Homeland Security Department.

But Perspecta is not the only new awardee DHS has added to its five-year “SETA III” contract vehicle after the agency evidently re-evaluated that firm’s proposal. DHS also awarded a seat on the vehicle to AECOM and that brings the total number of winners to five, the agency said in a Monday FedBizOpps notice.

DHS made a first round of awards in December of last year to ManTech International, Noblis, Science Applications International Corp. and the now-former Engility Corp., which SAIC acquired earlier this year. The contract to Engility was terminated after that transaction closed.

The SETA III contract covers technical support and research-and-development services to support DHS' efforts in driving innovation and creation of new technologies.

Perspecta filed its protest shortly after the awards were made and the Government Accountability Office dismissed that challenge in February.

DHS received eighteen total bids for the contract. One incumbent in Booz Allen Hamilton was not selected for the SETA III vehicle, while ManTech and Noblis will continue their work on the contract.
