DHS awards $325M R&D, technical support contract

DHS awards four companies spots on a $325 million research-and-development and technical support services contract.
The Homeland Security Department has chosen four companies for a five-year, $325 million contract to carry out research-and-development and other technical support services.
Work under the Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance III contract will broadly support DHS’ Science and Technology Directorate.
A Tuesday FedBizOpps notice lists Engility Corp., ManTech International, Noblis and Science Applications International Corp. as awardees that will vie for task orders over the full duration. DHS received 18 offers for the SETA III contract.
SAIC is a newcomer to this iteration of the contract while the other winners are incumbents from the prior SETA II vehicle, according to Deltek data. This contract is likely to be novated or consolidated upon the closure of SAIC's merger with Engility closes early next year.
The contract also covers test and evaluation support as part of DHS S&T’s broader mission to drive innovation and creation of new technologies that help protect the U.S.
