BAE Systems has been tapped by the Navy to support air traffic control and landing systems under a $72 million contract.

The company will support a variety of functions for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division including fleet services, equipment improvement, technical efforts, operational software, test bed efforts, repairs, fabrication and restoration, training, local area networks, and quality assurance and systems safety efforts.

Work will take place onboard ships as well as on shore.

While the contract was openly solicited, BAE was the only bidder.
