Verscend picks up General Dynamics IT commercial health products
Health care analytics company Verscend acquires a portfolio of commercial health insurance payer products from General Dynamics’ IT services business.
Health care analytics company Verscend said Monday it has acquired a portfolio of commercial health insurance payer products from General Dynamics’ IT services business.
Verscend is the former health services business of Verisk Analytics and was acquired by private equity firm Veritas Capital in June 2016 for $820 million. The Waltham, Massachusetts-based business subsequently rebranded to Verscend two months later.
With this latest transaction, Verscend is taking in a collection of products used in efforts to combat health care fraud, waste and abuse. Verscend sought to strengthen its payer quality analytics and reporting tools.
Health insurers, providers, employers, brokers, government and academic institutions are among the customers of those products. They are used in payment integrity, risk adjustment, quality improvement and population health functions.
