VA looks to upgrade financial management systems

Veterans Affairs wants to modernize its financial systems and is looking to see if any veteran-owned small businesses are up for the challenge.
The Veterans Affairs Department is collecting information on systems engineering services to help it modernize its financial management business systems.
Since this is the VA, they are specifically looking for service-disabled, veteran-owned and veteran-owned small businesses. If they can find at least two, the contract will be set aside for those kinds of businesses.
As part of its Financial Management Business Transformation program, the VA is looking to integrate multiple systems and applications to create a new environment using commercial software. The idea is to increase information flow and exchange across multiple applications and systems.
Some of the capabilities they will be looking for in this contract are program management, systems engineering support, development, integration, testing, cybersecurity, training and configuration management.
The VA expects the contract to be for five years. Most of the work will take place in Washington, D.C. and Austin, Texas.
According to the RFI documents, the VA wants a capability statement that is no more than 10 pages. They also want potential bidders to submit any comments, concerns and questions. That document also should be no more than 10 pages.
Comments are due March 7.
If there aren't enough responses from qualified veteran-owned small businesses, the contract will likely be competed as a full-and-open procurement.
