Raytheon's BBN arm tapped for Transportation Command simulation tool
Raytheon's BBN Technologies subsidiary will develop a tool for Transportation Command to assess the movement of military-related cargo and personnel.
Raytheon's BBN Technologies subsidiary has received a 54-month, $44.5 million contract to develop a system for Transportation Command to assess the movement of military-related cargo and personnel.
BBN was the lone bidder for the Analysis of Mobility Platform contract and will receive funding for it through task orders, the Defense Department said in its Thursday contracts digest.
Transcom envisions the AMP system as a modeling, simulation, and optimization environment used to analyze and assess the movement of military-related cargo and personnel within the Defense Transportation System.
AMP is intended to represent all deployment and distribution that includes movement by all transportation modes within the continental U.S., inter-theater, within theater and any combination of those three.
Work will take place between April 1, 2018 and Sept. 30, 2022.
