Leidos wins $472M VA IT modernization job

Leidos takes a $472 million task order to help Veterans Affairs in its IT modernization efforts through work on data centers and cloud services.
Leidos has won a potential four-year, $472 million task order to consolidate data centers and update cloud computing services in support of the Veterans Affairs Department’s IT modernization efforts.
The “Infrastructure Operations Services Support” order calls on Leidos to also provide security, architecture, application management, service desk and command center support to the VA.
Leidos beat out four other offers for the order and the initial base year is worth almost $137 million, according to Federal Procurement Data System information.
IOSS was awarded through the VA’s $22.3 billion Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation contract vehicle also known as T4NG.
The VA technically awarded the IOSS order to Systems Made Simple, a subsidiary Leidos inherited through its merger with the former Lockheed Martin IT business two years ago. That deal brought with it Systems Made Simple's position on T4NG. Lockheed acquired in late 2014.
Syracuse, New York-based Systems Made Simple has been the biggest winner on T4NG since it was opened for business in 2016 with $303.5 million in task order spending to date, according to Deltek data.
