Accenture's federal business promotes Ed Meehan to COO in the wake of John Goodman's move up to CEO of the business.

Accenture’s U.S. federal subsidiary said Friday it has promoted 27-year company veteran and former portfolio lead Ed Meehan to chief operating officer.

Meehan’s elevation to the role at Accenture Federal Services comes in the wake of former COO John Goodman’s promotion to chief executive in a move that took effect Nov. 20.

More recently, Meehan led AFS’ safety and citizen services portfolio that includes homeland security, law enforcement and first response agencies.

Prior to that, Meehan oversaw the business’ civilian portfolio and also held a sales leadership role.

Goodman succeeded David Moskovitz, who is helping with the transition through Aug. 31 of next year. Moskovitz will then move to Accenture’s corporate level in a senior managing director post.
