Parsons buys Williams Electric to grow Army, critical infrastructure cyber footprints

Parsons Corp. has purchased Florida-headquartered Williams Electric to add a new presence among the Army Corps of Engineers and grow its work in the critical infrastructure cyber market.

Terms of the transaction were undisclosed and the deal also brings new footprints with classified customers, Parsons said Wednesday. Williams Electric concentrates its services in areas such as control system integration, electrical and general contracting, and energy infrastructure.

The acquisition of Williams Electric aims to combine its knowledge of energy control systems with Parsons work in cybersecurity to create a converged, secure operational technology service that defends against cyber threats.

Through this deal, Parsons will expand its integrated cyber and control system offering with the Defense, Energy and Veterans Affairs markets along with international regions such as the Middle East.

Parsons also envisions the deal as one that aligns with the smart cities concept, automation of manufacturing and government-mandated cyber standards for critical infrastructure assets as control systems technologies evolve.

Williams Electric's headquarters are in Fort Walton, Fla. with additional offices located in Virginia and Maryland.
