American Systems has won a five-year, $36 million task order to help the Navy analyze recovered improvised explosive device weapons and their components.
The Navy awarded the order under its Seaport-e contract vehicle for professional services. American Systems was chosen for the massive contract vehicle with hundreds of awardees in 2004.
Chantilly, Va.-based American Systems will conduct technical and forensic analysis of IEDs, their components and other explosive hazards.
Work will also include analytical support to help develop and revise joint, Navy, service, interagency, NATO and partner nation doctrine and documents related to weapons technical intelligence and other mission sets of interest.
