Digirad wins potential $100M DLA health scanning supply contract

Health imagery provider Digirad has won a potential 10-year, $100 million contract to supply specialized medical scanning equipment to the Defense Logistics Agency.

The agency will make the computed tomography machines available for use in all four military branches and by civilian agencies. The contract contains a five-year base period with a five-year option.

Computed tomography works to produce cross-sectional images of the body for diagnostic and treatment purposes, according to the Food and Drug Administration. CT scans produce images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue and blood vessels.

DLA received 27 responses for the contract and work under the initial base period will occur through June 29, 2022.
