SAIC picks Reston for new HQ, names Keene COO

Science Applications International Corp. will move its corporate headquarters from McLean, Va. to Reston in a transition set to take effect July 1 as the company seeks to consolidate office space in the Washington region.

The future Reston headquarters will be in leased office space that formerly housed Scitor Corp., which SAIC acquired in 2015 for $790 million. Upon relocation, SAIC will be based at Sunset Hills Road and be approximately one mile from its former parent Leidos' headquarters on Freedom Drive.

SAIC sold its headquarters in 2013 upon the split into the companies now known as Leidos and SAIC, which has since leased back the space. SAIC's lease in McLean runs to 2020 and the lease in Reston expires in 2022.

In addition, the company has promoted Global Markets and Missions Sector President Nazzic Keene to chief operating officer in an appointment effective immediately. The three-decade IT veteran will keep her sector president title.

Keene joined SAIC in 2012 as senior vice president for corporate strategy and planning and helped lead the company's spinoff into a new independent entity.

Prior to SAIC, Keene worked at CGI as senior vice president and general manager for U.S. enterprise markets with responsibility over the Canada-based technology services company's U.S. expansion efforts. She joined CGI upon its 2004 acquisition of American Management Systems' nondefense government and commercial business.
