Navy hands down $1.7B sea-land unmanned ISR services contract

Four companies will vie for task orders to carry out unmanned ISR services for Navy sea and land operations under a potential five-year, $1.73 billion contract.
The Navy has awarded four companies positions on a potential five-year, $1.73 billion contract for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services to support unmanned aircraft systems.
Contractors will compete for individual task orders to carry out sea- and land-based unmanned ISR services through June 2022. The Navy received four offers for the contract that contains one base years and four one-year options.
Awardees are:
- Academi Training Center
- AAI Corp., a Textron subsidiary
- Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary
- PAE ISR
Academi Training Center and PAE ISR are only eligible for land-based task orders. AAI and Insitu are able to bid on both the sea and land portion.
Services include personnel, non-developmental equipment, certifications, installation, operation, maintenance, sustainment, spares and product support.
AAI and Insitu are also on the Special Operations Command's potential six-year, $475 million Mid-Endurance Unmanned Aircraft Systems III contract awarded earlier this week.
