Treasury floats mobile device management RFI

The U.S. Treasury has started a market research process to identify vendors that can help the department implement a mobile device management system to cover nearly 100,000 employees.

A request for information posted Friday asks industry respondents to describe the device operating systems and versions their platform supports and what deployment model they use. Descriptions should also detail whether the deployment will occur on-premise or on a software-as-a-service model.

Responses should include which government-wide acquisition contracts could potentially be used to acquire the new mobile management system.

The Treasury seeks details on a business’ ability to support these four platforms currently in use at the Treasury: Blackberry Enterprise Server, Citrix Xen Mobile, MobileIron and IBM Maas360.

Vendors should also include information on any applicable small business status such as 8(a), HUBZone, veteran-owned or women-owned.

Responses are limited to no more than 10 pages excluding the cover page and only electronic submissions will be accepted.

The Treasury will accept responses to the RFI through 12 p.m. Eastern time on May 4.
