DEA to unify IT resources under CIO

The Drug Enforcement Administration is looking for support as it moves forward with plans to consolidate IT resources.

The DEA plans to unify IT resources, such as its Intelligence Program, the El Paso Intelligence Center, and the Office of Diversion Control, under its CIO’s office.

To do so, DEA officials are looking for companies that can help with software development and integration, system architecture, database engineering, implementation, and project management. In addition, contract requirements may include definition, design, code, debugging and maintenance of the applications. The agency also needs help with system architecture.

One of DEA’s IT goals using modern tools to assist in investigating drug trafficking organizations, and developing solutions that leverage emerging technologies.

The DEA issued a request for information and a draft solicitation Feb 24. Responses are due by March 10.
