NAVMAR takes on sensor research work
NAVMAR Applied Sciences will help develop new sensor platforms for the Navy under a $12.4 million contract.
NAVMAR Applied Sciences Corp. has won a $12.4 million contract to continue development of a high altitude sonobuoy and an unmanned aerial vehicle for the U.S. Navy.
The contract is part of a phase 1 and phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research effort.
NAVMAR, a small business in Warminster, Pa., will work on development, testing and evaluation of advanced sensors used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Work also includes integrating new surveillance capabilities into existing Navy platforms that support the Special Operations Command.
The research work is expected to be completed by August 2018.
