Booz Allen Hamilton has been picked $379.6 million contract to help the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency with a variety of tasks related to its mission.
Booz Allen Hamilton has won a $379.6 million contract to help the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency with a variety of tasks related to its mission.
The contract was awarded under the GSA Alliant contract and one other company bid on the work.
As the prime contract, Booz Allen will help the agency with the development and fielding of counter-threat technologies and the delivery of mission IT solutions.
The Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency, or JIDA, is tasked with combating the threats from roadside bombs, suicide bombers and other non-traditional threats from insurgents and terrorists.
The Booz Allen contract will support efforts around the globe.
According to its website, Booz Allen has completed multiple projects involving IEDs. For example, the company provided integration and prototyping services for a radio detection finder system. Many IEDs are triggered by radio signals.
The company also is one of several primes on a $900 million contract to provide support to JIDA.
This Alliant task order is part of JIDA’s Enterprise Acquisition Strategy Initiative focused on meeting current needs, complying with acquisition laws and regulations and improving mission effectiveness.
Booz Allen officials were not available for comment on the award.
