Harris awarded $8.9M contract mod for Air Force Satellite Control Network support

Harris Information Technology Services Inc. has won an $8.9 million contract modification to continue its support of the Air Force Satellite Control Network.

The Air Force Satellite Control Network provides command, control and communication for space vehicles, according to the Air Force’s website. Harris was awarded the Network and Space Operations and Maintenance contract in 2008 to provide operations and maintenance support to several Air Force bases, according to the company’s website.

The modification will allow Harris to continue offering maintenance and logistics support for an additional two months. Work is expected to be complete by Aug. 31, the company said in a release.

Work will be performed at:

• Schriever Air Force Base, Colo.
• Colorado Springs, Colo.
• Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
• Diego Garcia Station, British Indian Ocean Territory
• Andersen Air Force Base, Guam
• Kaena Point, Hawaii
• New Boston Air Force Station, N.H.
• Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla.
• Thule Air Base, Greenland
