How bad are agency debriefs?
That’s the question we’re asking in our latest Insider Report where we’re focusing on debriefings and how you gather lessons learned from a lost contract.
Many of you will soon receive an email, if you haven't already, inviting you to take a brief survey on debriefings and the bid protests that debriefings often spawn.
Here is a link to the survey if you don't want to wait for the email or haven't gotten it.
I also want to call special attention to the end of the survey where we ask if you are willing to be interviewed for the report.
This is a critical element to the research, and I assure you that we will not be naming names, but we do want some case studies to illustrate the findings of the report. Don’t worry, we will remove any identifiable information.
The idea for this research came from the many bid protests I write about, and it often seems that bid protests are triggered because companies don’t get enough information during the debriefings to understand why they lost the competition.
My hope is that the research will quantify to what degree this is true, rather than just relying on my gut and the comments from a few lawyers and company executives.
The survey should only take a handful of minutes, but there also are several opportunities in the survey to describe your experiences and actions. Again, when we use this information we will not include any identifiable information.
So I encourage you to take the survey and help us explore this important issue in the market. Here’s the link again.
The results of our survey and followup interviews will be presented in a report as part of our WT Insider program.
