Vet-owned firms fight for $67M DEA contract

A couple of veteran-owned small businesses are squaring off over a $67 million DEA contract for cybersecurity services.
A couple of veteran-owned small businesses are squaring off over a $67 million Drug Enforcement Administration contract for cybersecurity services.
The competition was restricted to service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses and was won by a joint venture known as eKCG, which was comprised of Espire Services, a veteran-owned company, and Knowledge Consulting Group, which is now part of ManTech International.
AlphaSix Corp. has filed a protest with the Government Accountability Office. AlphaSix also is a veteran owned company.
The eventual winner of the contract will work on information assurance, cybersecurity, policy and compliance, and communications security.
Some of the services will include program management, information security governance, cybersecurity management and communications security.
The contract was awarded Nov. 2 and is for one year with four one-year options. The protest was filed Nov. 12 and a decision is expected by Feb. 22.
