Labor Department seeking companies for Benefits.gov support

Labor Department looking for a broad range of IT and program management services to support its Benefits.gov program.
The Labor Department is looking for companies to support interagency IT services that the agency is responsible for under its Benefits.gov program.
Labor has been managing Benefits.gov since the program began in 2001 as part of the EGov program started during the George W. Bush administration. Benefits.gov was developed to help citizens gain access to more than 1,000 federally funded benefit and assistance programs.
According to a new sources sought notice, the agency is looking for support that can help it mitigate risk associated with implementing executive orders. The contract, if it is developed, would support Labor’s CIO.
The capabilities the agency is looking for include:
- Program management and IT support
- Experience fostering stakeholder engagement
- Interagency experience with program and project management
- Organizational change
- CMMi Level 3 Development and ISSO-9001 certifications
- Agile framework experience
- Facilitation support
- Technical skills with cloud, Drupal and Java/PHP applications
Labor also will consider qualified small businesses.
The responses are due Dec. 1 and need to be just three pages long.
