Marines put call out for command and control testing

Find opportunities — and win them.

In a new sources sought notice, the Marine Corps is looking for feedback on contractor supplied support for testing and engineering work related to its global command and control system.

The Marine Corps Systems Command tactical systems support activity is conducting market research to develop a contract for the Marine Air Ground Task Force.

The sources sought notice is awash in acronyms, but the opportunity appears to be focused on a variety of testing needs: developmental, engineering, performance and acceptance testing as well as joint certification testing.

Responses are due Nov. 10, and so far, the Marines haven’t declared whether this will be a small business contract or a full and open competition.

According to a draft performance work statement, the Marines rely on contractor support for nearly all testing and engineering including test planning, test execution, post-test activities, engineering activities and meeting support.

In addition to the draft performance work statement, the FBO.gov posting also includes a link to a quality assurance surveillance plan.

The solicitation number for the sources sought is M68909-16-I-7600. The notice also has the tongue-twisting acronym of GCCS-TCO/JTCW T&E CSS. And all of that stands for Global Command and Control System (GCCS) – Tactical Combat Operations (TCO) / Joint Tactical Common Operational Picture (COP) Workstation (JTCW) Test & Evaluation (T&E)Contractor Support Services (CSS).

Like a said, awash in acronyms.
