WT event puts focus on cloud, mobility opportunities

Find opportunities — and win them.

Our next WT Industry Day puts the focus on cloud and mobility opportunities with government speakers from GSA, DHS, DISA and EPA.

Our next WT Industry Day is on tap for next week, and we’re focusing on cloud and mobility opportunities.

Our lineup of speakers includes leading government executives from GSA, the Homeland Security Department, the Defense Department and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Mobility and the cloud go hand-in-hand and are at the center of nearly every enterprise IT solution. This will be a great opportunity to learn about this topic from government officials who are using these technologies to get their work done.

The event is Nov. 10 at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Va., and I’ll kick things off at 8:15 a.m.

The first speaker will be Robert Palmer, acting deputy director of the DHS Enterprise Systems Development Office. He’ll be laying out the road head based on his experience delivering enterprise IT services.

Our second speaker will be Stan Kaczmarczyk, director of cloud computing services program manage office in the Office of Integrated Technology Services in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service. He’ll be talking about moving beyond the low-hanging fruit.

He’s a 20-year veteran of the GSA and has been deeply involved in moving the government to cloud and mobile solutions. He’ll be sharing lessons learned from this work.

Following Kaczmarczyk will be Kimberly Rice, mobility portfolio manager, at DISA. She’ll talk about her agency’s efforts to build a mobility portfolio for warfighters.

Harrell Watkins, chief operating officer at EPA, will give a civilian perspective on the needs and challenges of leveraging the power of the cloud.

Wrapping up the morning will be Deniece Peterson, director of federal industry analysis at Deltek. She’ll be providing the market analysis on who the major contractors, where the dollars are being spent and what opportunities lie ahead.

In addition to the content, the morning event is a great opportunity to network and meet potential partners and competitors.

Besides our government speakers, we are getting strong interest from government attendees so there should be an opportunity to meet some current and potential customers.
