Accenture and Amazon Web Services are teaming up make migration to the cloud easier for federal agencies.

The Accenture AWS Business Group will combine expertise from both companies and offer integrated consulting and technology solutions designed to help enterprise clients take advantage of an “as-a-service” operating model where IT and business services are delivered on-demand via the AWS Cloud, the companies said in a release.

The group will deliver a suite of services and solutions that unify business process re-engineering, application migration services, architecture design and application development for the AWS cloud.

The two companies are planning on training an additional 1,000 Accenture employees and certifying 500 Accenture professionals on the AWS cloud in the first year.

Initially, the group will focus on two areas: transformation services optimized for AWS and analytics and big data services.

These focus areas will help agencies move existing applications to the AWS quickly and will provide better analytics-driven solutions.

The Accenture AWS Business Group will additionally explore services in cloud security and the Internet of Things.
