Army using IT Box to speed up cyber acquisition

The Army is now using a template called the Information Technology box in an effort to speed up cyber-related acquisition, according to FCW.

The goal is to quickly supply soldiers with IT tools in a matter of weeks as opposed to the months that a traditional acquisition might take.

The IT Box was first used in 2008 and was updated in 2012. It has four main components: requirements and oversight; capabilities and measures of effectiveness; applications and software development and integration costs; and estimated sustainment costs, FCW reported.
