HHS leaders headline WT industry day

We have a great line up of senior HHS executives who will be offering their thoughts and insights Sept. 2 on the IT landscape at the Health and Human Services Department.
We have an outstanding lineup of government speakers for our Washington Technology Health & Human Services Industry Day next week.
Beth Anne Killoran, deputy acting CIO for HHS, will set the stage at the Sept. 2 event by giving a presentation titled, “A More Strategic Approach to IT.” The half-day conference will be held at the Fairview Park Marriot in Falls Church, Va.
In her role, Killoran is responsible for IT capital planning for $7 billion in IT investments across the department. She knows what HHS needs, why they need it and how contractors can best support the IT needs at HHS.
Another headliner at the conference is David Nelson, CIO of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He’ll talk about the challenges at CMS and the vital role technology plays in managing these programs.
From the National Cancer Institute, we have Bryan Jones, branch chief for acquisition oversight and operations. He leads policy development and implementation for NCI.
Our morning will wrap up with Natalie Melomed, lead contracting officer for NIH’s CIO-SP3 and CIO-SP3 Small Business contracts. These $20 billion IT contracts are used across the entire government market. Melomed leads day-to-day business management of the vehicles.

The HHS Industry Day follows successful programs on the Commerce and Defense departments. After HHS, we’ll have sessions on emerging technology (Sept. 15), cloud and mobility (Nov. 10), the Justice Department (Dec. 1) and cybersecurity (Dec. 15).
In addition to picking up information on particular business opportunities, our half-day programs also offer networking opportunities with potential customers and partners.
