Leidos wins $99M Army security contract

Leidos Inc. has won a $99 million Army contract to build and install automated entry points at 35 military installations.

The firm-fixed price contract is for hardware and software for access control for authorized personnel to use to gain entry on bases and facilities.

The Army wants to the automated system to increase security and improve the flow of pedestrians and vehicles through the access control points.

Requirements include improvements to access/denial accuracy and near real-time changes to authentication requirements as force protection conditions change.

Leidos was picked from a field of three bidders. The contract runs through July 13.
