Boeing awarded $5.5M B-2 bomber mission support

The Boeing Company received a $5.5 million contract for B-2 bomber mission planning and intelligence support.

Boeing will provide ongoing on-site operational mission planning and combat intelligence system support for the airplane’s weapon system flight operations. It will work with the 509th Bomb Wing, the 72nd Test and Evaluation Squadron and 325th Weapon Squadron at the Whitman Air Force Base in Missouri.

Among various tasks, Boeing will perform route analysis to minimize detection, aircraft threat vulnerabilities, and Global Low Observational route planning. It will also assist and support the 20th Reconnaissance Squadron in their daily operational activities.

Work will include support of several classified programs.

The Air Force announced the award Oct. 28.
