E-Verify is a system employers use to check whether their workers are eligible for employment. The government compares the information employees put on their I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification forms against government records.
According to a new request for information, DHS and its U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services bureau are looking to commercial cloud providers that can host identity and account management services. This would include identity proofing, credential service management and authentication services.
DHS will continue to manage the front-end user interface, integrate the identity/account management in the backend via web services, and manage the authorization mechanism for access to the E-Verify application.
Responses to the RFI are due Nov. 7.
