Northrop Grumman wins $200M contract to provide navigation systems

Northrop Grumman has won a $200 million contract to sustain its embedded global positioning/inertial navigation systems, or EGI, for the Air Force.

EGI is a suite of fiber-optic gyro-based navigation systems that is available for the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy, as well as international customers, the company said in a release.

Under the contract, Northrop will provide platform integration, modernization, flight test and technical support, depot repair and spares for the EGI.

The contract also includes foreign military sales to Iraq and Thailand.

Work is expected to be completed by December 2018.
