Northrop wins $36.3M Army contract for Hunter unmanned system

Northrop Grumman Technical Services has won a $36.3 million contract to support the Army’s Hunter Unmanned Aircraft System.

The Hunter is a long distance, medium altitude, multimission, tactical unmanned aerial system that is optimized to provide Army division and corps commanders with a dedicated ISR capability, Northrop Grumman said on its website.

Under the contract, the company will provide contractor logistics services and engineering support for the aircraft system.

Work will be performed in Afghanistan and Sierra Vista, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by Jan. 14, 2015.

Funding in the amount of $10.4 million is obligated at the time of the award.
