End of 2013 sees plenty of contract activity

Over the past two weeks, several contracts were awarded while Washington Technology was closed for the holidays. Here's a quick roundup of the major IT awards to help both you and us catch up:

Dec. 23:

Raytheon Co. won a $134.4 million contract with the Air Force to design and develop Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminals Increment I. The Global ANST Increment I is a secure, survivable multi-path communication system used to disseminate nuclear command and control messages from national-level decision authorities to wing command posts and bomber, tanker and reconnaissance aircrews at geographically dispersed locations, the Defense Department said.

Raytheon Co. won a $70 million contract to provide the Air Force with various Advanced Countermeasures Electronic Systems and Line Replaceable Units to support in-country spares, software sustainment and other activities at Warner Robins and Eglin Air Force Bases.

BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services won a $48.9 million contract to provide the Navy with C4I electronic communications systems for ships.

Lockheed Martin won a $37.1 million contract to fund Aegis Platform Systems Engineering Agent activities and Aegis Modernization Advanced Capability Build engineering.

Lockheed Martin won a $23.3 million option to provide the Navy with core class services in support of Littoral Combat Ships, including engineering and design services.

Austal USA won a $14 million option to provide the Navy with class service efforts for the Littoral Combat Ship program, including engineering and design services as well as affordability efforts to reduce LCS acquisition and lifecycle costs.

EDO Corp. won a $13.2 million contract to provide the Navy with depot-level repair, maintenance and modifications of the MK105 Magnetic Minesweeping Gear and MH-53E Airborne Mine Neutralization System Launch and Recovery System and tracking system, which supports the Navy for the currently deployed Airborne Mine Countermeasures legacy systems.

3 Phoenix won a $10.6 million contract to provide the Navy with engineering services in support of the development, integration and logistic support of the Torpedo Warning System, which provides surface ships with the Ability to detect threat torpedoes and thereby employ defense measures including maneuvering and hard and soft kill countermeasures.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control won a $14.5 million contract to provide the Army with engineering and logistics services to implement and field the Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight High Reliability Turret.

Dec. 24:

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems won a $362.2 million contract to provide the Air Force with contractor logistic support sustainment for the Predator (MQ1)/Reaper (MQ9) Unmanned Aerial Systems.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. won a $22.5 million contract to provide the Air Force with contractor logistics support services for the C-37 aircraft.

Computer Sciences Corp. won a $11.4 million contract to provide the U.S. Army Reserve with specialty medical training, equipment and site maintenance, administrative support and all training for combat support hospitals.

Dec. 26:

The Aerospace Corp. won a $24 million contract with the Air Force to provide general lifecycle systems engineering and integration for the National Security Space Community, including planning, systems definition and technical specification support.

General Dynamics C4 Systems won a $6.7 million contract to provide the Army with engineering services and logistics for the tactical airspace integration air traffic control system.

Boeing Co. won a $43.2 million contract with the Navy to provide engineering and technical field services to inform, instruct and train Navy and Marine Corps military and civilian personnel at various fleet and shore activities on how to install, operate and maintain equipment on AV-8B, EA-18G and F/A-18 aircraft.

Dec. 27:

Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services won a $47.3 million option with the Air Force to support critical mission operations for NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex/Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment in support of air, missile and space defense for the national command authority.

Mythics Inc. won a $19.8 million option with the Army to support Oracle with new products and support.

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training won a $574.5 million contract with the Navy to produce the Aegis Weapon System MK7 equipment sets in support of the DDG 51 Shipbuilding Program, as well as an option for Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System, Host Nation Poland, and engineering services.

BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems has won a $16.5 million contract with the Navy to provide the Common Identification Friend or Foe hardware for the U.S. Army, Navy and the governments of Korea, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates.

Dec. 30:

Boeing Co. won a $750 million contract with the Air Force to provide integrated engineering services for the B-1 weapon system to include detailed design engineering, maintenance engineering and systems engineering support, computer network support and technical analysis.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems won a $7.5 million contract to provide the Air Force with security upgrades on all Joint Execution and Tasking Systems for Space services, including upgrading the commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software.

Forward Slope, Harmonia Holdings Group, Moebius, ISPA Technology, G2 Software Solutions and Geocent all won contracts to support the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific.

The contract values are:

• Forward Slope -- $28.7 million
• Harmonia Holdings Group -- $26.7 million
• Moebius -- $24.6 million
• ISPA Technology -- $24 million
• G2 Software Systems -- $23.4
• Geocent -- $22.1 million

Under the contract, the companies will provide the center with command and control technologies, capabilities and C2-related capabilities in the areas of innovative science and technology research, systems engineering, architecture, design, development, integration, test, experimentation, implementation and support of C2 net-centric operations.

Jan. 2:

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training won a $14.4 million delivery order to support the Aegis Training and Readiness Center by producing one Mission Signal Processor equipment suite and two array simulator cabinets.

Ball Aerospace & Technologies won a $9.1 million contract to provide the Air Force with Advanced Laser Effects Research in order to advance the state-of-the-art laser damage testing and target system vulnerability to laser weapons.
