GD wins $28M contract to prep Strykers for upgrade program

General Dynamics Land Systems has won a $28 million contract to provide the Army with research, development and testing in preparation for the Stryker Engineering Proposal upgrade program.

The Stryker Engineering Proposal upgrade program is an engineering-development effort focused on integrating a group of system improvements into a single upgrade program for the Stryker vehicle, General Dynamics said in a release.

The company will prepare Stryker vehicles to accept additional Army-directed requirements in the future without impacting current vehicle performance, the company said.

Work will be performed in Sterling Heights, Mich., and is expected to be completed by November 2018.
