Lockheed-Northrop venture wins $93M Apache contract
A joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman has won a $92.8 million contract to provide life cycle contractor support to the U.S. Army's Apache helicopter program.
Longbow LLC, a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, has won a $92.8 million contract to provide life cycle contractor support to the U.S. Army's Apache helicopter program.
Under the contract, Longbow will provide support for its programs on the AH-64D and AH-64E helicopters. This work on fire control radars and for the AH-64E unmanned aerial system tactical common data link assembly and upgraded fire control radar electronics unit.
Longbow’s fire control radars have provided Apache aircrews with automatic target detection, location, classification and prioritization for more than a decade, Lockheed Martin said in a release.
The company’s unmanned aerial system tactical common data link assembly is a two-way, high-bandwidth datalink that enables Apache aircrews to receive and transmit data and control the flight paths, sensors and lasers of unmanned aircraft systems from long range, Lockheed said.
