Northrop wins $29M contract to develop Medicaid eligibility system

Northrop Grumman has won a four-year, $29 million contract with to provide and operate a new web-based enterprise system for determining Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program benefits eligibility.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman will design, develop, implement, operate and maintain the Wyoming Eligibility System, which will help the state meet requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the company said.

The Wyoming Eligibility System will allow enrollees to apply for services or benefits online, while staffers or automated processes will review these applications and request additional information or documentation, electronically.

Northrop Grumman’s solution for the Wyoming Eligibility System will be based on its operational Avance architecture, which is a modular, web-based enterprise architecture that can be customized for individual use, Northrop said.
