Northrop hires two for new business and advanced systems unit

Northrop Grumman has tapped two new leaders for its newly formed Business and Advanced Systems Development organization within its Aerospace Systems sector.

Amy Hopkins was named director of strategy and analysis, and Thomas Laux was named director of mission campaign for combat support and mobility.

Hopkins was most recently a professional staff member for the U.S. Senate Committee on Intelligence. Before that, she served as special assistant to the vice chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff.

She holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from Old Dominion University, and a master's degree in security policy from George Washington University.

Laux comes to Northrop Grumman most recently having served as deputy assistant secretary of the Navy (air programs). Laux was also once the Department of the Navy's first civilian program manager for a major aircraft program, Northrop Grumman said in a release.

He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Catholic University of America, and an MBA from George Washington University.
