Cyber Warrior Act calls for National Guard cyber groups in each state

Through the Cyber Warrior Act, Rep. Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania, along with four others, is pushing for the creation of a National Guard cybersecurity unit in each state. The act was introduced in Congress earlier this month.

It aims to ensure that each state has the kind of training and expertise to be able to protect against cyberthreats, Newsworks quoted Schwartz as saying. To this end, members of the National Guard would be recruited and trained in cybersecurity techniques, Newsworks reported. The bill accompanies the Cyber Warrior Act that was proposed in the Senate in March. It is still in committee.
