Caggiano funeral arrangements announced
A funeral mass for Joe Caggiano will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Bethesda, Md.
A funeral mass for Joe Caggiano will be held 11 a.m. this Friday, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, located at 9601 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, Md.
Caggiano, 48, died Monday. He was the former chief operating officer of the Washington Management Group/FedSources. He was a popular and well-respected leader in the government market.
There also will be visitation at the Pumphrey’s Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home is located at 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, Md.
Caggiano is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and five children, Cori, Peter, Sarah, Katie and Josie. He also is survived by his parents, Paul and Sue Caggiano, two brothers, Jimmy and Michael, and a sister, Carolyn Curry. Another brother, Steven Caggiano, died earlier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph P. Caggiano Children’s Trust Fund, c/o Carolyn Curry, 2095 Royal Fern Lane, Hoover, Ala., 35244, or the Coalition for Government Procurement for the Wounded Warrior Fund, 1990 M Street NW, Suite 450, Washington, D.C., 20036.
Caggiano was the COO of WMG/FedSources from 2004-2011, when the company was acquired by Deltek. He then became a principal at the Reznick Group, a business advisory firm.
He’s previously worked at Deloitte and Arthur Andersen.
Caggiano served eight years in the Navy, completing tours of duty onboard the USS Independence, the Navy Personnel Command and as an instructor at his alma mater Villanova University.
In addition to getting his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Villanova, he also earned a master's in finance from the university.
