11 win $5.6B intell support contracts

Lucrative contract attracts some of the biggest companies in the market to support intelligence operations globally.

Eleven companies have contracts from the Defense Intelligence Agency to support intell operations around the globe.

The contract is known as the Solutions for Intelligence Analysis Support II. Eight of the 11 winners are on Washington Technology's 2012 Top 100 rankings of the largest government contractors.

The winning companies will compete for task orders to provide a variety of professional services to support intelligence analysts, warfighters, defense planners and policy makers, according to a Defense Department announcement.

The winning contractors are:

  • Buffalo Group
  • CACI International
  • Concurrent Technologies Corp.
  • Cyberspace Solutions
  • L-3 Communications
  • Lockheed Martin Corp.
  • Mission Essential Personnel
  • Science Applications International Corp.
  • Veritiss

The contract has a five-year term and is expected to be completed by July 2017.

According to the market research firm Deltek, the contract has requirements for intelligence analysis; general military intelligence; intelligence planning, management, and implementation; support to deployed forces; rapid response crisis; and intelligence analysis training.
