Md. small business gains $17.7M Navy contract modification
New award calls for continued engineering, fabrication, testing and installation services, among others.
The Consulting Network Inc., a small federal contractor in Middletown, Md., will provide the Navy with software and hardware development among other services under a one-year, $17.7 million contract modification.
The contract calls for engineering services, systems engineering, commercial products procurement and hardware and software integration in support of Virginia-class submarines and other submarine and surface ship systems, according to a March 16 Defense Department announcement.
The modification provides for continued engineering, fabrication, test, installation and training services for the analysis, design and prototyping of components related to open architecture concepts.
This effort comes under Phase III of Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) “Open Architecture Concepts,” the announcement said.
The work will be performed in Middletown, and is expected to complete by March 2013.
Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
