CSC, BAE re-up 17-year IT outsourcing agreement

Find opportunities — and win them.

The new agreement replaces the one due to expire next April and calls for CSC to deliver a full range of IT services to the UK-based defense contractor.

Computer Sciences Corp. and BAE Systems have signed a new five-year information technology outsourcing agreement with an estimated annual contract value of $160 million for CSC.

Under the new agreement, which replaces the one that was due to expire in April 2012, CSC will deliver a full range of IT services, including service desk, collaborative services, end user computers, mainframe, physical/virtual servers, storage and networking, service request fulfillment and project services and application maintenance and support, according to a Nov. 22 CSC announcement.

Through this new agreement, CSC will provide IT services to 11 BAE Systems businesses in more than 100 locations in Britain, Saudi Arabia and Sweden.

CSC’s relationship with BAE Systems began in April 1994 when the companies signed a 10-year IT outsourcing contract in the United Kingdom. At the time, it was one of the largest commercial IT outsourcing contracts ever awarded to a single supplier in Europe. the announcement said.

The relationship between CSC and BAE Systems has matured, strengthened and expanded, supporting BAE Systems multiple mergers and acquisitions in both the United Kingdom and other countries, the CSC statement added.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors. BAE Systems, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 17.
