A losing incumbent and another bidder cry foul over an IT support contract.

Two companies have filed protests over a nearly $500 million contract the Energy Department awarded for IT support.

One of the protesters is Energy Enterprise Solutions LLC, the incumbent contractor. The company won the work in 2005 when it was part of RS Information Systems. Since then, it has done $936 million worth of work for DOE, according to Deltek.

Deltek estimates the value of the new contract at $484.6 million over four years.

The second protester is InfoZen Inc.

Both companies are protesting an award to ActioNet Inc.

According to the Government Accountability Office bid protest docket, the protests were filed Oct. 31. A decision is expected by Feb. 8.

The contract is to provide IT services to the Energy Department’s chief information officer.
