Find opportunities — and win them.

Northrop Grumman units have given notice of possible layoffs and furloughs in Virginia and Alabama, according to news reports.

Northrop Grumman Technical Services has given notice to 293 employees in Suffolk, Va. that they could be laid off starting April 26, according to an April 7 report in the Virginian-Pilot newspaper.

The majority of the workers affected provide support for the Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, which is being dissolved as part of a military reorganization.

In addition, about 100 Northrop Grumman employees in Huntsville, Ala., received notices that they could be furloughed in two months, according to an April 10 report in the Huntsville Times.

The furloughs would go into effect after the expiration of a contract for work on the Missile Defense Agency's Ground-based Midcourse Defense system.
